Day 0.2 - Auckland (CBD)

Distance Walked: Our day consisted mainly of getting those items I need or my re-supply boxes, doing multiple trips around the same 2 city blocks

Trail Covered: NIL

Weather: Cold and Wet

Interesting Facts:

OK, it’s wet and cold again. On our 2 week holiday we seem to have missed so many events either we arrived just before and were not staying long enough or we had just missed an event. So here we are again the Woman’s World Cup (Rugby) starts here on the 8th October, I hope the weather warms up..

Just a few of the items Sue and I collected on our first trip to Countdown, I have gone for 2 Boxes on the North Island and 4 on the South Island. I will include more detail on the Food page on my web site.

What a mess, I had items stuff in every spare space we could find as Sue is going to have to carry the bags back to Adelaide.

MACPAC on Queens St, these guys were very helpful not to mention still within a couple of blocks of our accomodation.

I am so happy that I have had a few days to get things sort out before moving up to Kaitaia. Whilst I want to enjoy this adventure as much as possible by being as flexible as possible, I did find that there were some logistical items that needed to be locked in just to make myself more at ease:

  1. Pre-positioning new shoes that have been broken in.

  2. Pre-positioning food boxes for the more isolate place

I also have a fellow tramper to start this journey with (Ondrej Melich) he has some experience hopefully that will calm the first day nerves. I have also lost track of the number of people starting the week of the 15th October.

Happy Tramping
