Day 3 - Maunganui Bluff - Hukatere Lodge (Copy)

Distance Walked: 32km

Trail Covered: 72km

Weather: Overcast warm

Interesting Fact: The Beach is the best Beach in NZ for fishing, it may be local biased but they do say they hold the world records for a number of different types of fish.

This picture was taken at 07:18, what a great sunrise.

Not long after Sunrise we came across the little fellow, he had no fear of us at all.

When you are doing 32km on a beach almost anything becomes amusing, this shell was quit large and colourful

And of course you must have morning tea when it calls, our team today consisted of Michelle ( on the phone) and Astrid on the right and myself.

Todays 11:00 picture is looking back the way we came, you can see a number of locals as well as a couple of trampers in the distance.

Here is a special for all of you, one of our Group has a drone and was good enough to let me use this picture. Our wonderful host didn’t want any front on pictures taken of the facility for safety reason.

After 32km on the beach the hand went straight for an ice cold Bundaberg Ginger Beer :-)

So after the 80Km I have sore feet so I am going to take advantage of the wonderful hospitality here and have a zero day tomorrow.
