Day 6 -Waipapakauri Holiday Park - Ahipara

Distance Walked: 14Km

Hitched 14Km

Trail Covered: 120Km

Weather: Bright & sunny

Note: Another great day, we smashed out another quick 14Km before lunch.

This Hand was up early this and got some rock climbing in before we started out.

Do you think 90 Mile Beach is Dangerous, Hell Yeh!.

Yes it is!

This is Jerome and Astrid getting a head start..

Yesterday it was Snapper from the Beach, today it was Lobster.

And who said I couldn’t create a selfie, this one was a little harder as I was trying to capture the 100km mark in the sand behind me. I will do each 500km from this point.

Little did I know today was the end of Lobster Season, these locals were taking out their Lobster Pots. They drag the boat onto the Beach, empty it and then go back out for more.

Today’s 11 O’clock picture was taken as we were loading our gear into a shuttle to get back to Kaitaia, the 14Km road was supposed to be to dangerous. I was a little disappointed to miss the Kilometres as I have walked on roads around Adelaide that would be considered more dangerous.

Firstly I would like to thank everyone for their comments, they mean so much to me.

With the first leg of this adventure done and dusted (90 Mile Beach) My respect for those who have travel the same path has increased immensely.

So it has been said the 90 mile Beach will make or break the Tramper, well I do have some sore points on my feet however let me say I have my first tick in the box :-)

Good Night
