Day 14 Kirikiri to Paihia

Distance Walked: 36Km

Date 18 Oct 2022

Hitched 36Km

Trail Covered: 249Km

Weather: Over cast

Note: Timber trails, Ye Ha!

Before we hit what I call the Timber Trails we had the pleasure of walking some local walks,

How good is this, these falls were so close to the city we could hear the traffic.

Nobody hiking the TA can say that the people are not the greatest. Everybody wants to talk with you, this gentleman talked about the walk and told us he does at least 2000km on the local walks each year.

This building is known as the Stone Store, the oldest Pear tree in New Zealand.

You guest it, the Oldest Pear Tree in New Zealand is the one in the middle.

And next it’s through some back yards to get out on the Road.

.

We came across this interesting form of art or was it to warn the Tramper Trash to stay away.

So here is a picture for Malcolm, we discovered this winery’s products on a recent trip, they make a very good Sauv Blanc.

These signs are not meant for us, we take a right and move on.

This is the 11 o’clock picture for today, we walked through this Forrest plantation for some time..

Nope, I’m not filtering water from hear.

These roads are hard on the feet, we were up and down them for some time..

After a couple of hours we popped out on to another Road.(Surprise), and yes the cruise ships are back.

The Hand tried to jump ship and get a lift on this trike, it was pretty neat and was advertised all over town.

The small Coastal Town of Paihia, a nice place to spend an evening.

Another long day on the Roads, my feet are getting very sore.

Just to add to the long day, I did a quick detour to take some pictures from a look out, Oops the wrong way Just add 2km to the day.

Safe travels everyone.

Good Night
